A Japanese person has been detained in Ghana in response to a request from INTERPOL Japan.
The suspect will probably be removed out of Ghana and sent to Japan, according to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday night.
Sources claim that Mr Hikaru was detained in Ghana last month for allegedly exceeding his visa limits.
Morikawa and other members of his group allegedly conned two people out of about $11,000, according to Japanese officials.
On a dating websirequeste, the group allegedly impersonated someone else, such as an American author. They made people believe they were in love before extorequestrting money from them, including for living expenses.
